THE SUFFIX ER



The suffix er forms the noun that describles the person or thing that performs the action of the verb.
I like everything Mary cooks. I think she's an excellente cooker.

Nouns that describle the tools or utensils used to perform certain actions are formed by adding the sufix er to the verbs which describle the actions.
